Summary

Empires have been added to BitCraft — who will rule the world?

Core profession content for nearly all professions has been reworked to be smoother to progress and bring more interesting collaboration between professions.

The concept of vehicles has been expanded to let player deploy personal storage chests and personal trading stands anywhere in the world.

Empires

  • Players can found an empire from a claim they own after completing the required claim research.
  • Empire’s can build a Foundry building in their claim to produce Hexite Capsules using hexite shards donated by empire members.
  • Hexite Capsules can be used to build watchtowers (if approved by the emperor) which act as nodes to project empire territory in the world.
  • A special Hexite Reserve stockpile has been added which allows only authorized members of an empire to store and collect Hexite Capsules.
  • Watchtowers must be charged with hexite energy to maintain them and will require a complex logistical network to get sufficient energy from your capital to all watchtowers across the world.
  • You can also use Hexite capsules to siege other empires watchtowers using the fearsome Hexite Cannon.
  • Emperors gain a special crown above their heads based on how much territory they control.
  • Emperors gain the ability to give out special named roles in their empire and grant these roles special permissions to act on their behalf, unlocking more as their empire grows in territory.
  • The first iteration of the empire map layer shows the empire territory. In the future you will be able to customize your empire’s colors.

New Content

  • Hundred of recipes in the game have been updated to give each profession a new and improved crafting progression and set of dependencies.
  • Researching your claim to higher tiers now needs a special capstone item from each tier and is also needed for creating buildings of higher tiers.
  • New “Typed Stockpiles” have been added which allows for storing of specific cargo in larger quantities.
    Perfect for organizing your base!
  • Two main types of deployables (similar to vehicles) have been added which allow you to set up your own trades and storage anywhere in the world without a claim.
  • Achievements and title rewards for world exploration have been added.
  • XP across tiers has been balanced to incentivize hunting the higher tiers as the best way to progress in leveling.
  • Several new emotes inspired by empires have been added.

Quality of Life:

  • Farm fields that hold more plants to make planting large field more manageable have been added.
  • The ability to move player’s vehicles and deployables off your claim has been added.
You no longer need to see some player’s cart in the center of your settlement if they left it there.
  • “Alt-Inspect” has been added to see valuable info over certain things in the world.
  • By hitting the F2 key you can now display territory lines on map.
  • Items which have probabilistic output now correctly show their possible outputs in the Craft UI and the Compendium which allows you to better follow and understand how to acquire certain things.
  • Store/Withdraw all has been added to move all items of the same type in one click.

Bug Fixes:

  • Prevent moving buildings across dimensions.
    Outside to inside a building
  • Fixed several issues with resource respawning from Alpha 1.
    Let there be darters!
  • Fixed a bug allowing you to disembark up large cliffs from a vehicle.
  • Fixed issues with receiving items falling on the ground when you have open inventory space.
  • Fixed a bug allowing you to trade cargo in item slots in player to player trade.
We will be properly adding cargo trading soon.
  • Fixed a bug allowing cargo to be stacked beyond its intended limit.
  • Fixed a bug allowing you to terraform below the min height.
